January Chapel: Prayer

We are so excited to be back in the swing of things!

Last week the 2s, 3s, 4s and TK enjoyed our first chapel meeting of the new year!

On Tuesday we were joined by Amanda Kendig, one of the associate directors of youth ministry here at Christ UMC.  Amanda talked with the kids about who they enjoyed talking on the phone to and how prayer is like a phone call to God.  What a wonderful way to put it!

On Wednesday Don Underwood, senior pastor of CUMC, shared chapel time with the children.  He also talked about prayer and shared a wonderful story of his son when he was a child praying the voice of his imaginary friend!  The kids loved it!!

Both lessons were exciting and are a wonderful way for parents to now connect school and home!  Talk to your kids about prayer tonight and pray together!

Before dinner, at bedtime or in the car...God hears us anywhere...anytime!

Welcome, Ms. Susan R. and Ms. Sandy H!!

We are so excited to announce the addition of two incredible teachers to the CDC staff!

Joining Ms. Susan L in room 114 with the toddlers is

Ms. Susan Reiners!!!

Susan has been on staff with CUMC in the Children's Ministry department as director of the Special Angels program for 7 years.  She has been subbing in different classrooms at CDC and helping out with the toddlers all year and loves every minute of it!  With her on board, we have been able to add to Ms. Susan L's class of 4 to make it a full class of 8!  Susan comes to us with an incredible educational background and a love of children and families!

We are also looking forward to having

Ms. Sandy Hernandez

join us!  Sandy will be teaching in both room 118 with Stacey Scheufler on Tuesday/ Thursdays and in Room 110 with Kristen Butler on Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday!   Sandy comes to us with years of experience working with children in many different settings, including teaching Spanish and gross motor skills at The Heights CDC and acting as the Pre-K team leader at another preschool in Plano!  Sandy is excited, motivated and ready to get back to working with children after several years of focusing on her own kiddos!

Please welcome Susan and Sandy when you see them around CDC!  They are both incredible additions to our already amazing staff and we are so excited to have them!
